Hello! My name's Lindsey, and I'm a writer whose main passion is science-fiction. I especially love to learn new things about philosophy, biology, and technology. I'm always looking to read books with at least some weirdness in them. On this blog, I hope to share a bit about how I get ideas for the stories I write!
I use this site to post my musings on writing: revelations I've had, tactics that work for me, and examples from books I love. I think often about the work that goes in to coming up with an idea, since it's so hard to remember that initial moment once you've started working on the actual thing! I hope that my blog helps other writers remember why they write - and maybe gives them ideas regarding how they could write.
Writing has been my passion since the first grade, when I wrote several short stories and penned (literally!) the book A Cupid Story in a spare journal. From there, I began to collect notebooks and fill them with stories that matched their covers. I was hooked! There's something about keeping a story in your head that makes everything seem so much more exciting.
I've taken part in NaNoWriMo for 11 years in a row and have completed the 50K-word challenge all 11 years! I've also worked as a copyeditor for nonfiction books, a blog editor for Willamette Writers, and a grading assistant for university courses. Additionally, I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English and an MFA in Poetics & Creative Writing. My MFA thesis explored the relationship between technology, grief, and childhood.
